On Saturday, June 13th, in Valsugana, the Italian champion will return to the throwing circle where he nearly reached 23 meters in 2024 with an exceptional 22.90.

Welcome back, Leonardo! The fourth edition of the Pergine Meeting looks forward to once again embracing the class and talent of Leonardo Fabbri: the Florentine champion will be one of the key players at the meeting scheduled for Saturday, June 13th, in Pergine Valsugana, Trentino. Fabbri has been a longtime friend of the event, organized by Polisportiva Oltrefersina in collaboration with ASD Non Solo Running: in 2023 and 2024, he inflamed the arena with impressive performances, especially that of m 22.90 with which he nearly broke the iconic 23-meter mark two years ago, just five centimeters shy of his Italian record, which he later improved to 22.98 at the end of the same season.

Reigning European champion, bronze medalist at the World Championship in Tokyo last September, and much more: Fabbri will bring a wealth of impressive results to the Vigalzano Sports Center, in a contest that will see him challenged in particular by Bosnian Nermin Stitkovac. But in the ten days leading up to the Pergine Meeting, further pleasant surprises are in store.

In recent days, the organizers have been able to finalize several details, especially regarding speed, with interesting profiles already announced such as Nigerian Ojeli in the 400 meters and Mauritian Bibi in the 100 meters. In Pergine Valsugana, work is underway to assemble a team capable of delivering outstanding results, both internationally and nationally. Among the young Italian athletes to keep an eye on on Saturday, June 13th, to follow are the 400-meter sprinter Ilaria Accame (Aeronatica), the more experienced Johanelis Herrera (Aeronautica) in the 100 meters, as well as Valsugana natives Massimiliano Cofone (Us Quercia Dao Conad), 10” 52 in the 100 meters as a junior, Alessandro Moser (Lagarina Crus Team) and Valeria Minati (Us Quercia Dao Conad), who both competed for Italy at the European Championship in their category last July in the 800 meters, that are ready to perform well just a stone’s throw from home.

Here is the technical programme for the 2026 Pergine Meeting:
Men’s events: 100m – 400m – 800m – 10,000m – 400m hurdles – Long Jump – Shot Put
