Great athletics is back in Pergine Valsugana. On June 17th, 2023, the Meeting will be revamped in a whole new guise.
The first edition of the new Meeting will host great champions of Italian and world athletics. Important figures in the past have competed on the track and platforms in Pergine: such as one of the world’s most medaled athletes of all time, Jamaican sprinter Merlene Ottey, who won the 100 mt in Pergine, Olympic medalists Paolo Dal Soglio, Jamaican James Beckford, Australian John Steffensen, and others.
It is worth mentioning the Italian long jumper Andrew Howe, European champion and vice-world champion in the long jump, a leading champion on several occasions in Valsugana.
This will be a great event and will take place starting in the early hours of the afternoon with races reserved for youth categories,
to then give way to the absolute races of the Premeeting with 1500 mt, 400 hs, 400 series, and the 100 mt heats.
The event is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. Men’s high Jump, Women’s 400 hs, and then Women’s Javelin,
all the other races will follow, closing with the highly anticipated Men’s 3000 mt race.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, June 17 at the municipal stadium in Pergine Valsugana,
to share a great experience at an important event in athletics. A great show is guaranteed!
